We are all looking for ways to make our hard-earned pennies last as long as possible. Saving money is never easy, but luckily we have technology on our side nowadays. There are plenty of apps that help you save money! Following up from our first installment, here are some more apps that help you keep your cash:
Vouchercloud is a free app that provides on-the-go discount vouchers for lots of different retailers. Use the location services on your phone and the app will find discounts nearby. It includes shops, restaurants, cinemas, garden centres and more. Once you’ve found a discount you want, you can download the voucher to get the discount. You can use your Wi-Fi at home to download the voucher in advance if you are worried about not having any internet.
The App is completely free to use, but you do have to register for an account before you can make use of the discounts. Providing that you get pounds worth of discounts on most deals, it is worth the registration!
If, on the rare occasion, you find that the discount voucher doesn’t work, Vouchercloud ask you to press ‘Report’ on the Redemption screen. They will then look into the deal and see what went wrong. We recommend you always check the venue will take the discount before ordering (especially at restaurants).
Do you even know of all the extras you can get with your phone plan? Phone providers O2 and Vodafone have an app where you can get benefits. Three used to have a rewards app called wuntu, but this recently closed. Three state they are working on finding a new rewards program for their customers, so keep your eyes peeled.
With O2 and Vodafone rewards the deals are pretty similar. Often you can get a free coffee, discounted meal deal or offers at high street restaurants. There are cool prize draws as well where you can win a holiday, cinema tickets and more. With O2 the added bonus is that you can get priority tickets to concerts and shows.
Groupon is a regular money saving app with lots of people. In case you are not familiar with Groupon, it is a service that offers virtual coupons with thousands of business.
